We need your help to make the Rockin Brews Marathon safe and enjoyable. If you can help with this fun, family-friendly event, please choose one of the available volunteer positions below. We will donate $8 per hour that you volunteer to Run Strong Madison or a non-profit of your choice. You will receive an official I'M ROCKIN IT! t-shirt, free snacks and drinks in the Finish Line Festival after your shift and you are eligible for the following prizes;
Volunteer at one of the Water/Aid Stations and you are eligible for a $200 team party at Off Broadway Draft House in Madison. The team with the most votes from the runners wins, each team member gets a $25 gift card. You can dress in costumes, yell, cheer or whatever it takes to make the runners vote for you. Not into team events? No problem, sign up for any other position and you are eligible for $100 cash if you get voted "Best Volunteer".

  • Monitor traffic and point runners in the right direction at the intersection of Winnequah Tr and Winnequah Rd Must be 18 or older with ability to stand for long periods. You can bring a lawn chair.

  • A team of six will hand out water & Gatorade in Paunack Park in Madison. Ages 15 and up, younger if with a parent. Must be able to stand for long periods. You can bring a lawn chair. One person will become the *Team Captain, just check the box below if you are interested.

  • A team of six will hand out water, snacks & Gatorade at the water stop at Olbrich Beach on Atwood Ave. Ages 15 and up, younger if with a parent. Must be able to stand for long periods. You can bring a lawn chair. One person will become the *Team Captain, just check the box below if you are interested.

  • A team of six will hand out water & Gatorade at the water stop at Schluter Beach in Monona. Ages 15 and up, younger if with a parent. Must be able to stand for long periods. You can bring a lawn chair. One person will become the *Team Captain, just check the box below if you are interested.

  • Set-Up food & beverage tent, hand out medals, help injured runners to the medical tent. 15 and up. Must be able to stand for long periods.

  • Take participants gear, place in bags, label and write bib # on the bag. Place bags in numerical order. 18 and up. Must work well under pressure.

  • Announce relay team bib numbers for exchanges at Olin Park in Madison. Hand out water and snacks to finishers. Guide runners to the exchange point and parking. 15 and up. One person will become the *Team Captain, just check the box below if you are interested.

  • Announce relay team bib numbers for exchanges in front of the Monona Community Center. Hand out water and snacks to finishers. Guide runners to the exchange point and parking. 15 and up. One person will become the *Team Captain, just check the box below if you are interested.

  • Assist injured runners at one of the Aid Stations. Will have 2-way radio and contact with EMT's and Marathon Staff. 21 and up.

  • Assist injured or ill runners at the Finish Line Medical Tent. 21 and up.

  • Help grill food and serve to the participants.

  • You will coordinate with all 8 of the Course Marshals to make sure they have their safety vests, flags and other equipment. You will confirm that the Course Marshals are in their location at the times listed and you will "cover" their location if they need a bathroom break. Must have own vehicle and valid driver's license. You will need to attend the Team Leaders Meeting 3 weeks before the race, where you will meet all of the Captains & Coordinators and will receive maps, names, phones numbers and instructions for race day. Must be at least 21.

  • You will coordinate with each Water Station Team Captain to make sure they have all of their supplies and refill water and snacks as needed. You will need a vehicle that can haul 10-15, five gallon coolers and other supplies. A valid driver's license is required. You will need to attend the Team Leaders Meeting 3 weeks before the race, where you will meet all of the Captains & Coordinators and will receive maps, names, phones numbers and instructions for race day. Must be at least 21.

  • You will coordinate with each Water Station Team Captain to make sure they have all of their supplies and refill water and snacks as needed. You will need a vehicle that can haul 10-15, five gallon coolers and other supplies. A valid driver's license is required. You will need to attend the Team Leaders Meeting 3 weeks before the race, where you will meet all of the Captains & Coordinators and will receive maps, names, phones numbers and instructions for race day. Must be at least 21.

  • You will make sure that all of the finish line volunteers are checked in and given instructions on setting up the food & beverage tables, the medical area andhanding out finisher medals. You will need to attend the Team Leaders Meeting 3 weeks before the race, where you will meet all of the Captains & Coordinators and will receive maps, names, phones numbers and instructions for race day. Must be at least 21.

  • You will coordinate with Team Captains at the 3 Relay Exchanges along the course. You will make sure that all of the volunteers are at their locations and on time. You will need to attend the Team Leaders Meeting 3 weeks before the race, where you will meet all of the Captains & Coordinators and will receive maps, names, phones numbers and instructions for race day. Must be at least 21.

  • You will serve as the leader of all of the volunteers on race day. Each of the other Coordinators as well as various volunteers will check-in with you. You will need to attend the Team Leaders Meeting 3 weeks before the race, where you will meet all of the Captains & Coordinators and will receive maps, names, phones numbers and instructions for race day. Must be at least 21.

  • You will work side-by-side with the Volunteer Coordinator and assist as needed. You will need to attend the Team Leaders Meeting 3 weeks before the race, where you will meet all of the Captains & Coordinators and will receive maps, names, phones numbers and instructions for race day. Must be at least 21.

  • Team of 2 will lead runners around Half Marathon course. Must have own bike. 18 and up.

  • Team of 2 will lead runners around Full Marathon course. Must have own bike. 18 and up.



  • List the name of the non-profit below and we will donate $8/hour to them for the hours you volunteer.


The shirts are an ultra soft cotton-poly blended t-shirt in unisex sizes.

LIABILITY: I assume all risks associated with volunteering in the Rockin Brews Marathon including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, traffic, and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my service for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Rockin Brews Marathon , Madison Events Production, LLC, the City Of Madison, the City of Monona, the County of Dane and all advertisers, sponsors, charity partners, their representatives and successors, from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.

PUBLICITY RELEASE: I grant permission to Madison Events Production, LLC for the use of my image or likeness in any recording of this event to be used for advertising, marketing or other legal manners of promotion.
